If you enjoy healthy exercise in the outdoors and meeting new people, then Mountain Trails Hiking Club is just for you.

The group joins together for hikes 3-4 times each month, usually on Saturdays and occasionally on Sundays. Hikes range from easy walks in the forest to difficult mountain ascents. All hikes are rated from 1-10 for difficulty, so club members can choose the hikes for which they are best suited.

Many hikes are available for children and pets, and most offer carpool opportunities.

About the Club

For 2026, the club will explore many local trails, including Fountain Creek Regional Trail, Stratton Open Space, and Aiken Canyon. We are taking on new trails this year, including Cheesman Reservoir, Schepp Ridge, and Barr Lake State Park. Those seeking a greater challenge can join us for seven major high-altitude pass hikes, such as Colorado Mines Peak Trail and North Star Mountain. Additionally, we'll hike to the top of Pikes Peak from the west (Crags) side. We have a record 42 hikes planned this year! Mountain Trails has something for adventurers of all levels.
